  1. Try a random dessert spot

Sure, you’ve already enjoyed a delicious dinner, but instead of ordering dessert from the same menu, why not take your date elsewhere? You can look up places near you that serve dessert or just drive around and see what you come across. It’s all but guaranteed that both the search and the dessert will be a load of fun!

  2. Visit an art gallery

If an art gallery or museum sounds appealing to you, that’s a great place to go once you finish dinner. It’s a great way to go on a little walk while looking at beautiful works of art. Plus, it’s a way to spark conversation and bring up memories or other interests in order to get to know more about the other person. At Marie Claire, they loved the idea of a themed museum trip! Whether you visit a large museum or a small local art show, it’s a great way to educate yourself while entertaining your date.

  3. Karaoke

This oldie but goodie date idea is still relevant today. No matter your age or your singing skills, there’s no denying you can have a wonderful time busting out a few lyrics at a nearby karaoke bar. Whether you want to take turns and show off for one another by singing solo or pair up and sing a duet, karaoke is a great way to let loose and have some fun!

  4. Bake dessert together

So finding a place to get dessert didn’t exactly appeal to you, but what about baking a dessert together? While it’s not exactly appropriate for a first date, it’s great if you’re looking for something new to do with the person you’ve been seeing for a while. You may not realize how much fun the two of you can have heading to the supermarket to get ingredients before heading home to create a tasty dessert you’ll both enjoy. The entire process can make for a date night neither of you will soon forget.

  5. Take a walk in the park

Another great way to spend time together after dinner that’s completely free and actually good for you, is to take a walk in a local park. Of course it depends on the weather, but if you’re able, why not get some fresh air? A long walk in the park is a great way to stir up conversation and, even better, may allow for some hand-holding on the way!

  6. Go bowling

Another oldie but goodie post-dinner date idea. Why not visit a nearby bowling alley, lace up some of those oh-so-fashionable bowling shoes, and show your date what you’re made of? Bowling is a great way to work off a bit of that dinner you just enjoyed if you like to get up on your feet. But don’t feel bad if you order a bucket of beers to enjoy while competing!

  7. See a movie (cinema, drive-in, or park)

Is there a movie you’ve been wanting to see but haven’t yet? Is there a movie playing at you local drive-in? Perhaps there’s an old black and white film playing in a park by you? All you have to do is look to see what movies are playing around town and decide on one you can both enjoy. While it doesn’t exactly allow for quality conversation, it’s a great excuse to cuddle up next to one another and enjoy something together.

  8. Take a class

Another great post-dinner date idea for both new and seasoned couples is to take a class. You’d be surprised how many different classes are available for you to take. Whether you’re into painting, sculpting, cooking, or crafting cocktails, there’s a class out there for you both to enjoy. This idea may require a little research ahead of time because you may have to be sure you secure a spot. Just be sure it’s an activity you can both get into. Some classes even encourage you to bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy while you learn!

  9. Visit a bookstore

Even if you’re not an avid reader, a trip to the bookstore could turn into quite the date adventure. Not only is it a great way to spark conversation, but you may stumble upon a new interest you never even knew you had! You can both talk about books you’ve read whether for school or for pleasure, or talk about anything that peaks your interest that you come across. Plus, there’s a good chance they have music there as well which means even more of an opportunity for conversation.

  10. Paintball, laser tag, or old-school arcade

If you’re feeling a little more youthful and adventurous, why not do something a little crazy? Games like paintball and laser tag are a great way to bring out your competitive spirit, while an arcade can be a lot of fun for those looking for a little bit more of a subdued fun time!

  11. Play on a playground

Speaking of feeling young, have you ever considered visiting a playground. You may not want to go when it’s full of kids, but if you stumble across a swing set, it’s hard to resist! Go ahead and let loose. You’ll be surprised just how much fun you can have on a playground, even as an adult!

  12. Find a great coffee shop and people watch

On the other hand, if you’re feeling less adventurous and want something more relaxing to do together, why not find a local coffee shop and enjoy a beverage while you people watch. If you’ve never taken part in people watching before, you may be surprised to discover how entertaining it is just to observe the people who walk by. Believe me, it’s more amusing than you could ever imagine!
